Description: A woven Batak fabric in black and red on a white background, with tassels. A striped design includes the 'hook and rhomb' cross motif, zig-zags and diamonds, and larger central panels of diamond motifs. The design is created using a supplementary warp, a technique were different coloured threads are introduced to produce a pattern which stands proud of the surface of the cloth. This was made by an elderly lady as a wedding piece to be worn across the shoulder.
