Description: The patterning on this sampler consists of different floral motifs alongside pairs of birds and other animals. There is a anchor above a group of buildings in the top centre, and initials (possibly AV) on the top left. The birds in the centre may surround the initials JT. Some of the motifs are detailed while others are cruder, suggesting certain images may have been copied others made up by the maker, such as the small blue animal on the top centre.
The bottom left symbol may be an eagle holding a snake standing on a cactus, which is the national symbol of Mexico, also seen on the flag.
