Description: Cotton tunic, with a heavily embroidered front including shisha mirrors, buttons, cowrie shells and tassels. The backs of the sleeves are plain, bordered back panels with highly decorative fastenings. Probably a Rabari shepherdess's wedding or festival choli (blouse) from Kutch, Gujarat. The choli would be worn at a wedding, or at one of the Rabari's festivals, which gave people a chance to come together to hold religious ceremonies, and enjoy animal racing and music, and to find a husband or wife.
