Description: This pattern has been screen printed onto mercerised cotton. It has a pattern repeat of 65 cm. This design was one of several produced by Tibor Reich in 1969 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first Shakespeare Festival in Stratford Upon Avon, organised by the actor David Garrick in 1769. The anniversary events were held in 1969. The pattern represents the Kings of England from Shakespeare's histories. Eight different colour ways would have been available when the fabric was originally produced. This sample is in red, orange, black and white.
