Description: An embroidered kimono inner collar (uraeri?) on cream crepe silk. One of a group of 12 collars, this piece has two embroidered symmetrical panels. This embroidery in gold, yellow, red, white and pink depicts a spinning top, decorated drums (tsuzumi - hour glass shaped hand drum and den den daiko - pellet drum), flowers including plum blossom and a kemari ball. The fabric has been folded and stitched in the centre, and has folds at each end ready for construction. Stitches found in this piece are stem stitch, brickwork couching, gold couched over satin stitch, french knots and chevron couched over satin stitch.
